The story

Luk Yu Tea House was established in 1933 and remains one of Hong Kong’s defining Cantonese dining institutions. Across three floors, ceiling fans, dark timber booths, white tablecloths, calligraphy and carved decorative screens preserve an atmosphere of old Central, while the kitchen serves traditional dim sum, soups, roast meats and shared Cantonese dishes from morning through dinner.

Why Luk Yu Tea House is iconic

This is a living restaurant rather than a styled recreation. Its patinated rooms, veteran service culture and deeply traditional menu offer one of the clearest surviving experiences of pre-war Hong Kong dining.
