Café Sperl
Vienna, Austria · Historic Café

The story
Café Sperl opened in 1880 as one of Vienna’s grand Ringstrasse-era coffeehouses. Its protected interior retains the original dark wood, parquet floors, marble tables, Thonet chairs, chandeliers and billiard tables that made it a favourite of artists, architects and theatre audiences.
Why Café Sperl is iconic
One of the strongest surviving historic coffeehouse interiors in Vienna: atmospheric, architecturally coherent and still used as intended.
