Café Slavia, an iconic historic czech restaurant & café in Prague

The story

Café Slavia opened opposite Prague’s National Theatre in 1884. Its interwar transformation produced the Art Deco room seen today: long walls of marble and dark wood, mirrors, round tables and panoramic windows, with a full Czech and international restaurant menu and evening piano music.

Why Café Slavia is iconic

A large dining room inseparable from Prague’s cultural identity—actors, writers, dissidents and generations of diners have shared the same theatre-facing setting.
